Anne,
in my poetry center, I use the scholastic book Poem of The Week. I make a copy of the poem to hang at the center. I then also write the poem on entence strips, line by line. The students have to put the poem back together, using the posted copy on the wall as a guide. Then i usually have them do an extension activity about the poem. This past weeks poem was about a snowman. The students then had to write a about what they would use to build a snowman (snow, hat, carrot,etc) and draw a picture of it! Hope this helps!!!
