CENTERS
By jennifer

Clip to ScrapBook
I have a cursive center in my room, too. The sheets are alphabetically filed in a crate with file folders. The kids are required to complete three a week. I have them recopy poems, songs and sentences in cursive, THis
is 5th grade and some of them cannot even write in cursive..It's ridiculous! They need the practice.
fifth grade is NOT too old for center activities. Here are some of my centers:
--Boggle
--Clue
--Crossword Puzzles
--Cursive Center
--Brainteasers
--Scrabble
--Upwords
--Brainquest
--Harry Potter trivia
--Who wants to Bea Millionaire for kids
--States
and Capitals flashcards
--Various comprehension sheet
--Story Shuffle(kids pick cards with a character, settign and a problem..they write a story based on what they pick)
I have mant more ideas and th kids look forward to center time once a week.
