I think handwriting is a great center idea. Some ideas off the top of my head are to copy friendly letters already typed out using proper handwriting. There are templates that force the children to use the proper letter formation (see Lakeshore Catalog). Also, you could laminate a sentence strip that has a sentence/word written on it in highlighter. Then the child could use a dry erase marker to go over the highlighter. That's one we use in my special ed resource room
