I'm a 5th grade teacher in Virginia. I'm not sure if what I did may help you with your class, but, it's worth a try. I made a bulletin board entitled "REGIONS OF THE U.S." and then split up the regions. I gave each student a state to research and then do a state bookmark. The information I gave them was on a graphic organizer and included the following: *State etc. and then made copies of each of the 50 states and they had to show me the info. before their good copy ... and then they re-wrote it and colored it and pasted on construction paper.
