State guidelines

Each state has their own scoring guidelines. In SC we test all 2nd graders using an aptitude and achievement test. They must achieve certain percentiles to qualify. In grades 3-8 they can be referred for testing by their parents or a teacher. As one of the gifted teachers in my district, I administer all test and retest if necessary. I would suggest that your sister check with her child's school district office to see who can answer the testing questions.
