public or private
By Colleen

Clip to ScrapBook
In my estimation the public school teachers in the Middle Schools in my area have an easier time than than the ones at my private school. (I teach first grade and like it.)The public school's teachers tend to teach only
one grade level in their subject area. They don't have recess duty (the kids have no recess) They get at least one planning period a day. The upper grade teachers in my school teach different subjects on different grade levels 5-8. We never get subs if the special teachers are out. I would never teach grades 5-8 at my school. In fact I took my children out of the school when they
reached that level because I didn't like the situation. If it were my area of expertise I would teach in public school no question.
Actually, I did teach in a public middle school when I first began my career(over 25 years ago). I loved it!
