We work 2 hard! Don't U think?
By Sixtiesbabe

Clip to ScrapBook
I am a second year teacher (Sp ED) Last year, I took home work every night and every weekend. talk about burn out!!!! i agree with the other replies posted here. There is always sooooooooooooooooooooooo MUCH to do, and my
prep period is always interupted!
This year I am doing things differently. Some days I stay an hour after my contracted day to work. I try not to take stuff home every night-- maybe just once or twice a week. I confess-- stuff goes home on the weekends, but I usually only work for an hour or two. I think we all work too hard!!! They do not pay us enough for this job!! Let's learn to
let go-- lower our
expectations or we are going to go nuts.
I try to prioritize things. I have one colored folder (red) marked: Things to Do-Urgent; another one marked "Things to DO-ASAP" and one marked "Things to Do- When Time." I can stick notes to myself in there, things to file, etc. That has helped a little. Good luck.
