Clip to ScrapBook
I remember watching Carol Burnett (I'm that old) and in one Waltons skit she used an idiom that referred to age. She said that somebody was
"As old as the hills on Grandma's Chest."

Well, I don't use that in class, (even if I did it would be over their heads, but they would go home and tell momma and poppa)

I just tell them I am old enough to know better.
They will say "to know better than what?"
I say, to know better than to ask someone how old they are.
