As Old As My Tongue...
By Julianne

Clip to ScrapBook
My students are first graders, so when they ask my age I can say, "I'm really, really old." and that usually satisfies them. If you teach older students you could try what "Dear Abby" suggests. When they ask you how old you are just say, "Why would you ask a personal question like that?" and then stare them down without answering. (Personally, I am grateful to be able to tell SOME students that I am old enough to be their grandma, so they better WATCH IT!)
