guided reading groups
By Sue

Clip to ScrapBook
Well, your message was brief -- so I do have a few questions and one suggestion - don't date a parent (That was for you proteacher lurkers out there...)

Anyway, I am assuming your internship is for the entire school year.

If so, who is asking you to do all the reading groups, the substitute teacher? Or are you being paid to substitue for her? That is the part that is confusing to me.

Secondly, have you lead the guided reading groups before? I can't tell if you are worried because you have no experience with them, or, you just don't like doing them.

I know that when I interned and I did literature

circles (discussion groups) I just about freaked out! I had no clue what to do. However, speaking from experience, it isn't as bad as you imagine.
You basically have to dive in and give it a try. That really applies to any method of instruction.

I know this wasn't much help -- but please, give us more to go on
