closet cryer
By Sniffy

Clip to ScrapBook
I must confess, I am a closet cryer. Or at least I try to be. I don't want anyone to think that I am a baby -- but I have so much invested into what I do, it is my identity that I am sensitive to some things.

I have cried
two or three times this year. I usually cry when I feel sorry for myself. Isn't that pathetic?

I cried when I thought about the remarks my principal said to me. (I did not cry in front of her -- usually I go into shock and cry later when I rehash it over and over). I thought her remarks were unjust and just plain idiotic. I felt that I had been working so hard only to have her come

down on me. So I went to the bathroom and had a cry.

I cried after a coworker bit my head off. I just went to ask her something, and she barked at me. She didn't see me, but I went back to my room and had a good cry.

I cried about I saw a note that one of my students wrote (I hate Mrs. So and So.)

Wow, looking back I have cried alot! Maybe I need some prozac or something. However, I must say that I have seen many (4) of my colleagues cry. I have popped into a couply of their classrooms when students were at specials just in time to see them wipe away their tears, or just in time to give them some consolation.

I must just be at a weepy school. On the other hand, there are many more times when there is so much laughter. I think the first of the year is a little overwhelming for so many of us. I hope this helps. It has been good for me to analyze this.
