Motivating students

I found that the upper grade students I team taught loved to play games--Taboo, Probe, Pictionary... I used some of these to teach the concepts we needed to learn in Language Arts. They also absolutely loved Jeopardy where I would have the categories be review items for a test. We didn't even do this every week--but often enough that it gave them something to look forward to.
