Lori-
Thank you so much for posting this! I did consult that catalog, but when I didn't see it listed, I assumed it was not one of the ones they had. I have used these before. I like them, but not as much as some
others that have more extension activities. Something is definitely better than nothing though and it is a place to fall back on.
I'm doing the same- reading through and taking notes. I am 6th grade too and am working with the social studies teacher- I am reading/language arts this year. I have been focusing a lot this year on story elements and literature circles so I would like to
build on what we have done so far. I am having a bit of trouble, as I feel like it is a fairly challenging novel and I have some diverse learning needs. I am using another novel as a read aloud at the same time- Jar of Dreams.
I am going to really tackle things some more this weekend and we are going to jump right in on Mon- that will give me more of an idea of how it is going to go . While I don't like to be just a day or two ahead of the kids, I think that is going to be the case for a while with this one, as I have no prior experience with it to rely upon.
Sorry for being so long winded! I will post again this weekend if I come up with anything brilliant....
Take care and thanks again for the heads up about learning links.
Debi
