Clip to ScrapBook
I came home for Spring Break armed with some kids' lit books to read and before I knew it I had run out of books -- yikes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I dug around and discovered a book on my shelf I'd not read yet.

It's ADALINE FALLING STAR by Mary Pope Osborne. It's historical fiction about Adaline, the daughter of Kit Caron and his Arapaho wife. After Adaline's mother dies, Kit leaves her with his cousin's family when he goes on exploration with John C. Fremont. Adaline endures the cruel prejudices of the 1800s and finally strikes out on her own. Adaline is gutsy and funny. I think your girls will love this character/book.

Happy Reading,
Elaine
