Clip to ScrapBook
I just used this great read aloud as an introduction to "expanding our vocabulary". We actually did the sentences like they did in the book. However, I had the students do them in pairs to start with. Each pair had three-four letters to do sentences with. They had a lot of fun finding words and trying to make use of them. I would love to try the vocabulary parade some time - think that could be an experience! We also made posters that had their vocab. words from the week. On each poster, I had them use the lined notebook paper and create pictures with markers just like the author did. Have fun and let me know if you come up with something else!
