content books
By Lori 2

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi there,

Usually they are referring to books that are used in the "content" areas such as science, history, geography, or other social studies, and math rather than "reading" books. Those subjects are known as the "content" areas since when I was a youngster they taught content rather than any reading skills in them. Today with integration of subjects and the emphasis on reading skills, many teachers also teach reading comprehension skills in the content areas.

Hope that helps,
Lori
