Lower level readers in 4th
By Elaine

Clip to ScrapBook
ddd,

I love the MARVIN REDPOST books by Louis Sachar. They are probably 3rd grade level, but the messages Sachar always puts in his books cross several grade levels. I like to start the year with MARVIN REDPOST, WHY PICK ON ME? which deals with the topic of bullying and friendship. It's priceless!!!!!!

Another title I fell in love with is JUST JUICE by Karen Hesse (I think). It's such a nice story about family built around Juice who has trouble reading at school and finds out her dad has reading problems too. If I could only pick a few literature books for my 4th graders, these 2 would be way up there on my list of choices.

Have fun choosing!
Elaine
