Thanks for your encouragement. I do love the book, Mick Harte Was Here, and I hope to be able to read it with my students again soon -- probably in a literature discussion group rather than as a read aloud. I think it will allow me the opportunity to show my students what's really meant when we say the reader's appreciation and comprehension of text is based, in part, on the experiences the reader brings to the text. Those vital connections we always ask students to make as they read, count for us as well. We're having a snow day here today in Missouri! I am planning to read ahead in the RUNNING book! I may just allow myself the luxury of finishing it! I hope you have a great day wherever you are. Elaine
