Here in NY, I had to get fingerprinted, take my teacher exams, and apply for certification. Then, when I apply to individual districts, I send in a resume, coverletter, and application. Also, most want your official transcripts from your college,( $5 each time) and a references (which are held at a career development center at my school, and cost $3 to send out each time). And I'd start applying as soon as possible. I got a call for an interview on Thursday for positions this coming year, so the sooner the better=)
