Here in Alberta

Clip to ScrapBook
In my school we have the following supervision times.

8:30 to 8:50 - inside hallway duty
10:00 to 10:14 - first recess (outside duty)

11:40 to 12:00 - lunch hour duty - all teachers have to stay in their class and
supervise the lunch period.

12:00 to 12:14 - recess - outside duty
12:14 to 12:28 - recess - outside duty

2:00 to 2:14 - recess - outside duty

Our T.A.'s help out on supervision as well, we have 2 teachers outside at every recess. Most of us have 3 to 5 recess duties a week. This year we have more T.A.'s than usual so it has cut-down on our supervisions a bit. Some years

we have 5 to 7 recess duties a week. All depends on the number of staff we have.

Unfortunately I work in an area where it would be near to impossible to get parent volunteers to help out with supervisions so it does fall on the teachers. I know some schools who actually hire parents to supervise, but I'm guessing their budget is cut in other places to accomodate for this.
