recess

I teach in a small private school we have recess with the primary students twice a day. I do recess one day a week for two recesses. We try to schedule our recess day on a day when we have a special so we can have planning time. We do not do lunch duty. Our vice principal and aides do that. I don't like it either but try to make it as enjoyable as possible. I try to get some exercise in by walking laps around the playground. I had a blast my last duty by snatching balls away for the kids and playing keep-away. I felt like being "naughty". It was really fun. Pretty soon the whole playground was involved. Sometimes I'll shoot baskets. I am not a jock by any means. I am almost 50(yuck). The fun approach is working for me.
