listening
By Amy L.

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi, I don't know what grade you're in, but I've taught several. And I've definitely been there! Doesn't matter if they listened last month; they will go back and forth on that skill! We actually have listening skill activities, which are fun, but hopefully reinforce why they should listen carefully. Of course, being consistent with what you tell them will help..the other post said she ended up repeating, even though she said she wouldn't (and who hasn't!) When the opportunity arises, doing what you say (when it doesn't affect a testing outcome or something) makes an impact. If they miss questions, lower grades, etc... well, that's a natural consequence. Having kids repeat the directions (2-3 kids) helps some, too. Good luck!!
