a PC world

Clip to ScrapBook
I am really starting to hate how P.C. we must be. In a world where we are NOT all equal, sorry to say but must say it, we are doing a diserivce to the kids. I know that my views will be unpopular with most. I don't mind
that I need to be aware and compassionate to others values and or religion, but things are going so far. In my old school we could not do any Christmas lessons, decorations, activities, songs, etc. BUT we did have to teach about Kwanzaa and Haunakah. Never mind that every child in my class celebrated Christmas. I love your idea about teaching the Civil War. I think it is GREAT! I just
wish my kids were old enough to do it. If nothing else, it should should show your African-American students just what they came from, how much they have accomplished, and respect this. In fact, I feel that having an African-American be in the role of a slave really puts things into perspective. Good luck- I hope that you don't have to change a thing about your lesson.
