You're right!

You never mentioned the problems with this T.A. because you were told it was temporary. Had you known there was a chance it might become permanent you probably would have spoken up much sooner. Unfortunately, if we don't say anything, administrators tend to think everything is fine. At least you spoke up in the end and they were cooperative enough to retract the offer. Some administrators would have said "Too bad! It's too late." Since this person has not been doing her job anyway, things will probably not change over the next week before break. Be as nice as you possible can as you count down the days. I hope they find you an exceptional replacement and have a good holiday!
