My suggestion

Keep your plans simple, code your objectives (if you don't already)
You are taking so long IMHO because you don't want to do them...I know when I would rather be doing something else everything seems to take so much longer.
LOL
How long have you been teaching? And have you ever been caught without lesson plans, or forgot...what did you do then? I did this once (not on purpose) and was just fine, I thought for a sec and bam. Since then planning has been much easier for me. That and I revamp and change lessons I have done in previous years. That way I am not constantly reinventing the wheel and can spend
quality time creating new lessons.
My other suggestion, try looking up some simple "crafty" lessons. Crayola.com has some simple ones with easy to obtain materials...or ask your art teacher. I know I have a file full of extra stuff for holidays that I do not use. My fifth grade teachers at one building made family trees yesterday, as part of their social studies unit and to be a gift for parents.
Do something fun without too many I.O.'s and P.O.'s! Save it and tease them with it...they will behave!
Enjoy the last 6 days! And stop stressing!
