Actually, as I was typing my comments, I was thinking that parents probably wouldn't miss all those graded papers anyway. I love the idea of the steno books. I can see that they provide good ways to communicate with parents, good writing practice, and more importantly, good reflective thinking on the part of the students. I will give it a try. Even if parents do not see this notebook every night, it would provide a record of activities done and concepts covered in class. Thanks, Jan. The more you write -- the less I feel I need so much help! I am sorry that you quit teaching when you obviously have so much to offer. Are you teaching again now? Whatever you are doing, I wish you all the best.
