We Need Guidance
By Shelly

Clip to ScrapBook
This is a major issue in my district because we just got this vocal new superintendant who has made dress code a MAJOR part of his platform. Quite frankly, we're all sick of him mentioning dress code every time we hear him
or get a letter from him.

This is not to say that I believe that teachers should get to wear whatever they want. I disagree with teachers wearing clothes to school that they would be embarassed to be seen wearing at the grocery store. However, I think the guy needs to give us some advice on what we SHOULD be wearing. Some people at my school are so up in arms about this because

they think that the superintendant is saying that they have to come in Sunday finery that will get ruined by paste and paint. I contend that this isn't what he's saying, but what is he saying?

The teacher's dress code is so unique ... other profession's dress codes are much better defined. I think if we're going to be so harassed about dress code, we should band together and give each other wardrobe suggestions.
