to "Need Help"

That was my post - about feeling like you feel and I did resign. I hope you don't get to that point either.
I can tell you one thing I learned a long time ago and it helped me alot in the area of grading papers - I hardly
ever did it. My lessons were often activities - like when I wanted the kids to learn and practice vocabulary words, instead of worksheets I'd have to grade we did a cooperative learning activity called Inside/Outside Circle (See Spencer Kagan's work on coop. learning). There was nothing to grade and they learned a lot. Or we'd have lessons at my word wall on locating words with suffixes,
3 syllables, synonyms, etc. I did assign written work but usually the only things I checked were things I was giving a grade on, after they'd had an opportunity to practice it. The children would check their own work (we'd go over it together) and while they were working I'd go around and "spot check" their work to see if they were doing it correctly. There's alot more to it, but I hardly ever take things home to grade. I spent more time on lesson plans and planning activity based learning. Does that help at all?
