I agree that a death should not be swept under the rug, I just feel that it could have been handled a little differently. Because it was such short notice, teachers didn't have an opportunity to talk to their classes, and parents were left uninformed. Perhaps parents may have not wanted their children to participate, maybe they would have wished to talk to their children beforehand about death, and even maybe some of the parents may have wished to attended. My concern is that the situation was inappropriate because of the lack of notice given to everyone involved. Personally, I believe that 4 and 5 year olds may not be ready for this type of situation. At the very least, as a parent, I would want to be informed.....
