I teach 5th
By Lashawn

Clip to ScrapBook
I teach 5th grade math. It is really hard to get jobs in some parts of MS because of politics. You have to know somebody who knows somebody to get job at some schools. I live in northeast MS. In the Delta it is easy to get
jobs there, but their schools (some) are in worse shape than ours. I have 100 kids (about 25 per class). It is much better than last year (we had 30 per class). I have spent about $200+ this year on stuff for my room. Stealing is a real problem amoung the kids I teach so using manipulatives is sometimes out of the question (I never see them again). I buy a lot of things I can use on the
overhead so they still get the advantage of seeing the way things work, but to me it's not the same. We do not have enough room to move about the room. We can't hand stuff out without it becoming a problem.
