My kids used to do this alot. I still have a few that will wander up and ask a goofy question. But, I have been very firm with them that after I have given directions, I can't help them anymore. I agree with you that it can drive you crazy!!!!! We call tests "friends" in my 4th grade class. It sounds very silly, but it relieves some of the pressure because we can laugh about how we're taking a math friend today.
