How much should teachers be expected to do?

I thought the poem was fantastic. I have been a teacher for over 20 years am married to a teacher and have had two boys go through the system. The poem just summed up some parents and children so well. Why do we keep doing it? Becasue there are some children and parents who think you do a great job. The little thank you or just seeing a child grasp a concept they didn't know before. Thank you for that poem. I loved it.
