Thanks for your encouragement! I would be interested in the website you mentioned. Thanks also for the suggestion of ignoring--my principal came back from an ODD seminar and suggested that. I guess these kids are very| socially motivated, she said. It drove me crazy for a while, but I have seen some progress. Guess I just need to persevere and not give these two so much negative attention! I actually did put a desk in the hallway at my principal's suggestion. It certainly eases things when one of them is out of the room. I worry because they're not learning anything out in the hallway, but at | | least the rest of the class can!!My principal (who is a gem!) has also volunteered to let them time out in her classroom. (She is also the 7th and 8th grade teacher.) They hate that--but are never disruptive in that environment. I have tried not to overuse that consequence so it won't lose its effect! (Also hate to have them miss out on class instruction/activities.) It's not a real solution to the problem since they aren't learning to deal with their behavior--but it does provide a "breather" and get them to think about the consequenses of their actions. Anyway, thanks for the encouragement. Today was actually a good day! (After yesterday I needed one!)
