A teacher should always learn.
By CD

Clip to ScrapBook
So many topics entered into the postings, so let me begin by saying that a teacher should never become LAZY. A teacher needs to keep learning. If we are to be givers of knowledge, shouldn't we be always acquiring it?
Not a day should go by that a teacher doesn't reflect on its events. If something didn't go as planned, what could have been done differently? Many teachers where I work are afraid to admit their mistakes. Who said teachers were perfect and devoid of error? Workshops and seminars are gifts to us. Let's bestow the knowledge acquired at these on the little faces who look up to us.
I
have a lot of admiration for the teachers who are commited to this profession 24 hours a day. But then I also worry for them, too. I have a life outside of my class of 16, and I am so thankful. My sanity is maintained by keeping my loved ones close and connected. Yeah, I bring home the day's baggage, but then I move on to the great things that happened in the day.
While we vent, let's also remember that there are thousands of other professions which are nowhere near as rewarding as this one.
