We made it, too!

Had to snicker as I read your entry. I "cheated" this year and had our Valentine's "party" after P.E.--which is the last 15 minutes of the day for us. I had them pass out the things just before P.E.--we came back, "partied,"
and then went home.
I felt like I kinda "skimped" on the Valentine emphasis, but everyone seemed to go away happy. (And it was short and sweet!!)
Actually, one reason they probably weren't so hyped up about Valentine's today was because we're having Spirit Week and this was Crazy Hair/Clothes day. So it was a bit of a circus all day!! (But we made it, too!!)
As to having

the party first thing--well, whatever works! I remember one year when my room parents gave me a birthday party first thing in the morning (if you can imagine.) The kids were sure we should "party" all day "since it was my birthday." My present was a lounge chair for my patio which I had in my classrooom the whole day. What a riot!!
