I achieved National Board Certification this year in Middle Childhood Generalist. You are required to complete four portfolio entries and six assessment center excersies (these are where you go to a certified| "place" and answer questions and prompts on a computer.) You complete the portfolio during the school year. This year the porfolio must be turned in by March. Then, you take your assessment center exercises. I think that this year that they have to be completed by the end of May. It does take alot of your time. This is a WONDERFUL way to grow as a teacher and I think that it was | |
worth every minute. But, prepare your family and friends that most, if not all of your "spare" time will be devoted to this project.
