Katy..you are not the reason we need recertification

It is teachers like Katy that we need more of. However, most teachers are not this way. My school is full of teachers that earned a BA and then their education was over. No professional development, no professional growth, no changing with the times and kids, no applying what is new and shown to increase learning. These people need some sort of MOTIVATION to continue to grow as educators.

No, teachers should not have to spend their own money. Schools and districts should provide professional development for their teachers. My point is,, you see the same teachers at each workshop, inservice, conference. Where are those others. They do not have to learn anything new, so they don't and never will. It is the kids that suffer.
