not such a bad idea

I don't think recertification is a bad idea. Except for the "paying out of pocket". We have teachers who love to continue learning. They attend conferences, workshops, pilot new programs, mentor new teachers, etc... We also have teachers who haven't learned anything new since they left college (and how much did we really learn there??). They never attend or do anything..They should have to at least keep up with the changing times. I know not all "new" things are good, but never growing as a professional is definatly bad.
