Stepping up to bat

We don't have a vice principal, but I can relate. Our new principal asked us to select a grade level chairperson for each grade. You should have seen the hands go up in our first grade. There is one woman who would have made life miserable for all of us had she been chosen to be grade level chairperson. Three other people immediately volunteered, not because we really wanted to be chair, but because we didn't want HER to be chair!
