Clip to ScrapBook
Hi,
I used the idea of being a magician. I glued a round magnet at the end of a dowel. I used various objects to try to lift up a paper clip. for example: I put a paper clip on a playing card and the magic wand was on the other side. The concept taught was that magnetic force travels through objects. The stronger the magnet then the stronger the magnetic force thus it can travel through thicker objects. I used wood, plastic, paper, and cloth (etc). They had to sort and classify. I then did a magic trick at the end using a magnet, material, cup, and a spoon. The spoon held the cup magically in the air. A magnet was hidden in the material. They had to write in their journals how they thought the trick was done.
Good luck.
Loretta
