Hi,

I have taught split grades for many years and they are challenging. Be certain that your class size is alot smaller than the other straight grades.

After this year, decide if you like split grades and if you prefer a straight grade, I would search for a school with such a position.

If your principal was such a great person to work for ( as you have said ) she would have listened to your thoughts. When you told her you would take any grade level I knew she would give you a split cause NO ONE wants to teach a split grade!

Look at it this way as well, she wouldn't have given you a split grade if she thought you couldn't handle it.

Good luck!

I'm open for your questions at any time. I hope I have been of some assistance.

Mike
