Spending Early Literacy Money/Pioneers

One of the new resources that Scholastic is hoping will be on the approved list for Nov. 13 is a Social Studies Through Literature unit about Pioneers. The complete kit includes a set of novels (Pioneer Moon??), a few other
books, as well as the teacher's guide. It is one of the things we are considering. The other gr. 3 teacher at my school and I are planning to buy Gage dictionaries and thesaurus. I like the leveled book series that are connected to curriculum areas (Science, Social Studies, Health). I was quite impressed with the sample books that I got. I can't remember, at the moment, who the

publisher is. We already have the complete Collection anthologies series, so we are not really looking for a new one, and, therefore, I don't know much about the Nelson series.
