I can definitely relate to what you are feeling. I did my student teaching last January. I was terrified too. I was also scared because the students have already gotten the classroom routines down by January and in a way,
I felt I was at an immediate disadvantage from the start. I don't know what grades you will be with. I was with 3rd and 5th. Let me just say that kids are so accepting. I had wonderful cooperating teachers too, and that, of course made it all worthwhile. It's a lot of work, no doubt, but what a learning experience! I can still remember the butterflies the first time I spoke in front of
the students and held a piece of chalk. I got thru it and I know you will too! I now have a 3rd grade class of my own. I love the fact that I am on my own and no one has to watch me every minute. But, I couldn't have gotten here without a wonderful student teaching experience. Go into it with all your enthusiasm and be a sponge because you'll learn so much!!! Keep us posted.
