At my university we have 4 professional blocks (1 semester each) where we have methods classes and are in a classroom. Block I- 1 day a week full day Block II 1 1/2 days a week plus 2 weeks full time every day (classes are| canceled) Block III 1 1/2 day a week plus 3 weeks full time everyday. Block IV is student teaching where our state requires 18 full weeks of full time placement in a school. I am amazed how many people have only 10 weeks! We are with the classroom for their entire first semester until January. Our grades are not reported until after we complete our student teaching since it is past | |
the end of the university semester. While I am very antsy to begin my own classroom (I hope) I also think that having such a long placement is very beneficial!
