i teach 6th grade and have always assumed kids knew how to write paragraphs--it's not in my curriculum! this year i took a different approach and started with sentences and worked up to paragraphs--WHAT A DIFFERENCE!one excellent source i used was How to Write a Paragraph workbook by Teacher Created Materials--the one i used was for grades 3-5; i notice that there is also one for 1-3--i imagine it is as good as mine.
