Intro. activity

I did a fun intro. activity with 3rd graders that I think 5th graders may also enjoy. You pass out a handful of skittles or m & m's to the students and have each color stand for a diferent ice breaker, like red=your favorite subject, orange=a funny story about you pet, yellow=tell me about your family, etc. Give the students a choice and they can pick one color to tell you about. My 3rd graders enjoyed it because they got to choose what they wanted to tell me instead of me making them tell me something in particular. Good luck!
