When I was doing my observation for school, I has this really great teacher that had some good ideas for classroom management. She was an LD/BD teacher, and her methods seemed to work. What she did make up fake money. Teh kids would earn "bonus bucks" when they did well at something (i.e. working quietly for 10 minutes). Then on Friday the teacher brought in toys and stuff she bought at the dollar store. She also had a glass vase. When the class worked quietly together, she would take a handful of cotton balls and put them in the vase. When the vase was filled up, the teacher threw a pizza party, popcorn party, video party etc. I thought this was a great idea and i plan to implement it in my class someday. Hope this is helpful.
