Dear Dawn,
Contact your University or College supervisor immediately! The student teaching placement office at my college said that if the teacher you are placed with acts like you are not wanted in the classroom or fails
to give you proper guidance and feedback you must report it. You say you need the reference?? What kind of reference do you expect to get from this dimwit of a teacher who obviously does not care anything about you. This is supposed to be a positive learning experience for you and it sounds like you are miserable. I know this sounds like a drastic step but if you are going to be
student teaching for 16 weeks like I am right now you really need to be in a classroom with a teacher who can act as a mentor. Consider whether the reference is really worth it - Do you hope to teach at that school? Good luck!
