Inquery on Permanent substitute placement

I only sub in one district but it is a large one and so I go to maybe 20 schools. I can not really answer your question, but I can say that when I am in my children's school where I know many of the kids personally from volunteering for 6 years, PTO involvements, sports and extra curricular activities, and from being neighbors with many, it is a WHOLE lot easier. I think the main reasons are because first, I can call them by their names immediately, and because I already have some kind of relationship with them established. Many discipline problems are avoided simply because you know the student's name. Also, I know their personalities more, so I know who to watch, who needs extra attention because of something going on at home, etc. Hope this helps!
