Tammy,
I think you've made a good decision. After all, subs do get paid (although not much), so there will still be income. Your children are a little older, so maybe you could get a part time job for a few nights a week- something simple- to help supplement the income. I am a sub, too. I have 2 jobs and I work 60 hours a week between subbing and my other job. I don't have any income from a husband, but I do survive! At my night job, I work with lots of moms who work 2 nights, and a Saturday, and they do well. Good luck. I say go for it!
